Theme of the Week: Knowledge is Power
Hello everyone,
I am battle-tested and battle-hardened based on how I have had to manage different scenarios, both short- and long-term, throughout my life—whether through high-level sport, moving abroad to chase a dream that, for me, was not what I had hoped, shifting my identity and starting to work with stability, or the obvious cancer battle.
But what does not get talked about enough is the how—how I have had the ability to pick myself up (metaphorically) every time. When I began to invest much of my scheduled downtime in self-development and self-improvement, I truly understood the importance of curiosity and the commitment to attaining and processing new knowledge.
I realized that I was not happy with the person I was, but I also did not have the knowledge to know how to become the best version of myself. So, it started small: from listening to motivational speeches, to reading books, to networking with individuals within my community. And as I talk about knowledge, I am not talking about the type that comes from uninterested work in a classroom; I’m talking about knowledge that comes from self-improvement. As an individual, it is important to stay curious about your self-development, constantly checking in on where you can improve.
For me, my journey started with learning how to be present, emotional control, daily habits, finding purpose, faith, workbooks, and the mindsets of top performers. This learning has caused a deeper understanding of myself and a curiosity to not only learn about who I am, but how I can be better than the version of me yesterday. If you believe you are perfect, then this message is not for you; however, only one man is perfect.
Curiosity breeds self-development; without it, we will be stuck in the same cycles.
Stay strong, even when you are not. It’s okay, you are not alone.
With love always,
Michael Argyrides
